Manaaki Te Whanau - Supporting Family Health

Manaaki Te Whanau Immunisation Outreach clinic is still operating every Tuesday 9am to 5pm. This is for routine child immunisations and immunisations for pregnant women only during the lockdown period. We ask that you call 0800 775 001 before you come to the clinic and we will arrange for a nurse to meet you.

We are an outreach team based at the the Whanganui Regional Health Network. Our team consists of registered nurses, kaiwhina and administrators.

For children who are overdue for immunisations or children requiring a B4 School Check or families with no GP, we provide the following:

  • A drop-in clinic every Tuesday from 9am to 5pm (other days and times on request)
  • Home and rural visits usually one to three times monthly
  • Phone support and advise
  • Transport to the GP or outreach clinic
  • Assistance in finding and enrolling in a General Practice


For cervical screening we provide the following:

  • Track and trace for women who are overdue for cervical screening and referred by General Practice
  • Information and assistance, transport, booking an appointment back with the GP or finding an alternate smear taker
  • Assistance in finding and enrolling in a General Practice
