Manaaki Te Whanau - Supporting Family Health

We are an outreach team based at the the Whanganui Regional Health Network. Our team consists of registered nurses, kaiwhina and administrators.

For children who are overdue for immunisations or children requiring a B4 School Check or families with no GP, we provide the following:

Pregnancy and Parenting

Nau mai, haera mai! Welcome to the Whanganui Regional Health Network's Pregnancy and Parenting service. Here you will find information and support that will help you prepare for pregnancy and how to care for your new arrival. Learn about the benefits of healthy pregnancy and how to maintain it by connecting to community services who will support whanau/families.

Pregnancy and parenting classes are facilitated by qualified childbirth educators. These are available for all pregnant women and their support person.

Long-term Conditions Support

A registered nurse working with the patient and family, alongside their GP and practice team, to development an integrated care plan.

By working together in this way, the areas that are having an impact on a person’s life are addressed, which often results in improved quality of life.

This service works across various health and social sectors, such as housing, employment, Work & Income NZ, and involves advocacy and support for the patient and their family.  As well as supporting general practice to develop innovative solutions.

Immunisation Service
