Casual Vaccinator (6-8 weeks)

Are you a skilled and experienced Vaccinator looking for a casual opportunity to make a positive impact on our region’s health?

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Casual Vaccinator. This temporary position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the community and gain valuable experience. The ideal candidate will join an experienced team of clinicians and kaiāwhina who work collectively to make meaningful contributions to our community’s health and wellbeing whilst gaining valuable experience in a high-demand field.

This is a casual position with flexible hours, which may include evenings and weekends based on vaccination events and community needs

You will be comfortable working independently, demonstrating strong initiative, and adhering to safety protocols and cold chain standards. You will also have:

  • A valid clean driver's license is mandatory for this role as you may need to travel to various locations to administer vaccinations.

  • Full vaccination authorisation is preferred.

  • Being trained in B4School is an advantage. If you have B4Sc training, it will be seen as a valuable asset to your application.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Administering vaccines to infants, adolescents and adults

  • Maintaining accurate records of vaccinations administered.

  • Travel to designated vaccination sites as required, some rural, weekend and after-hours work may be required.

  • Communicating with whānau and addressing their questions or concerns.

  • Assisting in maintaining vaccination equipment and supplies.

  • Following all relevant health and safety guidelines.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Fully Authorised vaccinator

  • A valid full clean driver's license.

  • B4Sc training is advantageous but not necessary.

  • This role is not suitable for new graduates. Applicants should have prior experience in vaccination and be fully authorised.
