STOP SMOKING SERVICE

Our organisation supports general practice and has also partnered with a number of other organisations to create Ngā Taura Tūhono Stop Smoking Service; a free service that combines the strengths of existing stop smoking services in our region with the collective aim to work together to support the community to become smokefree.

Our team of Wellbeing Whānau Practitioners understand that when whānau start the journey towards being smokefree, they are starting the journey of transforming themselves and their future. Our team are here to walk that journey with you.

Our free services include:

  •  consults and follow up appointments

  •  nicotine patches, lozenges, and gum

  •  carbon monoxide tests

  •  quit books and quit calendars

All of our services and products are free to anyone who lives, works, or plays in the Whanganui Region who would like to quit smoking. You can access this service through your general practice as well as in person at the Whanganui Quit Clinic. We understand that everyone is different, and our dedicated teams are here to help you for however we can and as long as you need us to.

We have a range of options available to support whānau including onsite clinics at a range of places or at your home or workplace.

In addition to the supports above, we can also provide you with information about prescription-only quit smoking medications, such as Champix and Zyban.  If you are interested in using one of these medications, then we can refer you to your GP to discuss whether this would be a suitable option for you.

If you are ready to make your life a smokefree one, contact us of 0800 200 249 or pop in to see our team at one of our clinic sites:
