WAM Current Vacancy
Advanced Registered Nurse
Applications close: Friday April 17th
Whanganui Accident & Medical Clinic (WAM) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse interested in advancing their scope of practice – either by commencing the Nurse Prescriber or Nurse Practitioner pathway, already working towards one of these, or currently holding these qualifications.
WAM provides high-quality, accessible urgent and primary care for the Whanganui community, with a strong focus on equity and improving health outcomes. Our clinicians work with a high degree of autonomy, strong clinical support, and a shared commitment to timely, patient-centred care in an urgent care environment. We actively encourage and support advanced nurses to continue developing their skills and thrive in their practice.
As a subsidiary of Whanganui Regional Health Network, WAM was established in 2003 to improve community access to urgent and after-hours healthcare. Located on the Whanganui Hospital campus alongside the Emergency Department (ED), WAM plays a key role in providing a ‘one-stop shop’ for urgent medical care. We deliver urgent and primary care services from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week – including public holidays – in a well-supported, collaborative environment.
This role will suit a confident nurse who is looking to advance their career, has an interest in working in an urgent or primary care setting and excited to join our dynamic, community-focused service.
