Lead Registered Nurse – 0.8 FTE (flexible)

About the role:

 

Are you ready to help lead a passionate, committed, community-focused nursing team?

Gonville Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to step into a leadership role that supports, develops, and empowers our nursing and wider team.

 

Our practice serves a diverse, low socio-economic population, and we are proud to provide care that is high quality, equitable, and culturally safe. Supported by the Clinical Service Manager and Gonville Health leadership team, you will be responsible for the day to day oversight of the nursing team, and strongly influence the quality of clinical services in our practice. This role is not just about leading, you will be hands on with the ability to jump in and help the team when needed, providing clinical visibility within the nursing team and to patients and whanau.

 

The key to success in this role will be your strong leadership skills and passion for educating, mentoring and supporting nurses and allied healthcare workers to uncover their full potential. Your passion for providing high quality, equitable care to our community will help shape our practice, and positively impact on the team and patients/whānau alike.

 

In this role you will support the CSM to:

  • Lead, mentor and support a fun team who are passionate and skilled 

  • Provide strong leadership with a hands on approach to the nursing team

  • Oversee rosters, audits, professional development and performance reviews

  • Ensure clinical excellence, service quality and compliance

  • Participate in and leading weekly meetings

  • Help to drive and maintain health targets

  • Promote an environment that is positive and supporting, and encompasses our organisational values

 

About you:

 

Essential skills required for the role:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with current Annual Practicing Certificate

  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience in New Zealand (ideally with a background in primary health care)

  • Skilled in leadership, mentoring and communicating

  • Strong organisational skills with a proactive mindset

  • Culturally responsive and committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

  • Confident in clinical practice and happy to support on the floor when needed

  • A strong team player, able to juggle clinical and administrative leadership
